The Connect/Disconnect actions within the link maintenance tool are the most basic actions that allows you to manipulate the linkage between two objects such as switches, blocks, etc..
You need to have two link objects of regular link types (LUL, LUR, LDL, LDR), which both must be NULL if you want to connect them, or they must point to each other if you want to disconnect them. The order in which the link spots #1 and #2 in the upper half are populated is irrelevant.
This action is reversible: After a Connect you can immediately Disconnect and vice versa.
This example shows how to connect/disconnect the right end of block B674 (LUR) with/from the left end of control point C288 (LUL):
