5.7.5.7 Fix Linkback Error

The Fix LbackEr (short for Fix Linkback Error) action within the link maintenance tool allows you to correct a corrupt linkage. Although every effort is done to prevent such errors, it might happen due to the complexity of the system, or you might have an older edited territory with such an error. This link maintenance action exists as there is virtually no other obvious way to fix such an error except to do undos (which doesn’t help if the error exists in a saved territory and you want to continue working on it) or start from scratch. Consider this an emergency action.

You need to have just one link object of regular link types (LUL, LUR, LDL, LDR) with an invalid value, which would be another object that no longer exists, or there is no (or bad, i.e in an inappropriate spot) linkage back to your object. If the link value is valid, the action button will not be enabled.

This action is not reversible.

This example assumes that the linkage from B0 to B2 is a bad one, for instance B2 has been deleted – and therefore cannot be part of the link maintenance procedure:

After executing the action the link value is set to NULL.
