CTC provides a phone feature for communication with various virtual partners, such as train engineers running trains currently on your territory, supervisor of maintenance crews and the crews themselves, and dispatchers of the neighbor districts your territory has connections to. The partners must be logged on into your communication network to be able to talk to them. Trains that are not on the territory cannot be called (and they cannot call you either), as well as crews that are off shift. Currently, neighbor dispatchers cannot be called, although they can call you.
You can initiate calls in two ways (the phone must be idle at that time):
- Going off hook by hitting the phone symbol on the main screen
- Hitting the “Action” button inside the Alarm panel for any alarm where an action is required
If the phone is ringing (phone symbol flashes) you just pick up the phone by hitting the phone symbol
