If you hit “Pick from Diagram” the focus will turn over to the main CTC screen that shows the track diagram. Depending where you come from you can click and select an object of your choice from the main screen. This will return focus back where you started. You can see the selected object added or highlighted in the list. If you cannot make up your mind, you can hit the <ESC> key in the main panel to return without a selection.
This procedure is available in the Panel to initiate a call: here you pick a block where the train is located you want to call. If there is more than one train on that block, the procedure will highlight all the trains in the block (and move them up in the list so you can see them all together). Also, if you call the maintenance supervisor for a repair job, you can pick a block or any type of switches that needs repair the maintenance crew should work on. A block can be picked also if you want to tell a train driver in which block he should stop next.
For Route Protection purpose, you can add all types of protection devices with this pick procedure. You can select any type of switches and also a drawbridge to include as a protection device.
With filter routes you can reduce the displayed list of routes to include only that touches any of the selected switches.
