If you hit “Set Position”, the focus will turn over to the main CTC screen that shows the track diagram with grid lines. All you need to do is to click on an empty square grid element and the object will be placed right there. You can repeat this as often as you like, even if you temporarily switch the focus to another window – as long as the main screen is still “hot” to accept clicks for a new position.
If for some reason the object cannot be placed there, an error message will be displayed in the Info/Error line and the object remains where it was. For objects that require more than one grid element, the system calculates the rectangle required to include all square grid elements needed for the display. For a placement to be accepted, the area covered by the rectangle must be empty.
If you are satisfied with the new location of the object, you need to make sure that the location is “fixed” as to prevent any accidental movements while the main panel is still “hot”. You can do this by clicking the “Keep it” button in the detailed window, close the detailed window, or activate the “Set Position” procedure for a different object.
You can switch back to the detailed window either directly (window’s taskbar etc) or by hitting the <ESC> key while in the main window.
Note, if the main CTC screen has a special editor function active, the “Set Position” button in the detailed window is inoperative. If you activate a special editor function while set “Set Position” procedure is active, the main screen will continue to accept clicks for a new position, not for the editor function (grid lines may disappear depending what else you do), until the location is “fixed” as described above, after which the editor function will function as normal.
