5.2.10 Train Schedules

This is the TrainSchedule panel as displayed for the Editor – a similar panel with some fewer options is shown as unassigned schedule in other situations as well. “Unassigned” means you’re looking at a schedule as such, independent of whether there are trains running this schedule. An “assigned” schedule is one that is actually assigned to a train, and shows the progress of that train regarding this schedule, which you will get if you hit the “Show Schedule” button in the detailed RunTrain panel.

  1. Schedule Name “assigned” or “unassigned”

  2. Internal Key: a unique non-modifiable identifier provided by the system.

  3. Name: an optional identifier. Editable in edit mode.

  4. Description:another field for another name or type. Editable in edit mode.

  5. Reference Time: Time where all other times within this schedule are based on (1). Editable in edit mode. Not shown if schedule is assigned to a particular train

  6. Weekdays the train is scheduled to run. Modifiable in edit mode. Not shown if display is invoked from the train data panel, and also if schedule is assigned to a particular train (2)

  7. Section Data: Details about each section a train has to run through. If shown schedule is assigned to a train, the line of the section in which the train is currently running is highlighted with green back ground color. However this background color turns to red if a train has entered from the destination side heading towards the starting side of that leg to cover station stops missed earlier. (3) (4)

  8. Station Data: Details about each station a train has to stop at. If shown schedule is assigned to a train, only stops yet to do for the current train are displayed. (3) (5)

  9. Dupl with diff time: If hitting this button this particular schedule will be duplicated to a new schedule (created with this step). The system will ask you how many minutes you want to add for the new schedule, and it will add them to every time information for the new schedule. Not shown if not in Edit mode.

  10. Dist Stp on Sects: This allows to distribute all stops to the sections so that each section has only one assigned stop (if possible). This is just a raw distribution – a first step: the exact distribution can be manipulated by going into the Station Data details. Not shown if not in Edit mode.

  11. Mod all times: Add or subtract minutes to each entry in this schedule. The system will ask you how many minutes you want to add. Not shown if not in Edit mode.

  12. Enforce Section Check: Normally on, can be turned off temporarily when manipulating section assignments to stations. Not shown if not in Edit mode.

  13. Exit: closes this window.

Notes:

  1. The other times are in the future of the base time. If such a time is ahead so that is on a different day, it will be marked with “+” for each day change (midnight passing) after the base time.

  2. The weekday markings apply to the reference time only.

  3. In Edit Mode the button “Add more” allows to add one more line at the end. Is a line is selected you can remove that line (“Remove button”), and you can move the line up or down with the arrow buttons to the right. Hitting the “Edit” button as well as double clicking on a line will load a window showing detailed data about this particular section or station. This double click works also in non-Edit mode, and a single click on the station name or the start and destination point puts a marker on the main grid (without turning the focus over)

  4. If Station Stops are assigned to section, a click on a section line will dim all station stops in the station list that are not assigned to this section

  5. If Station Stop is assigned to a section, a click on that station will change the display of the section list such to dim all other sections there other than the one this station is assigned.
